Selling a book gets to be FUN

I know that many authors don't know where to start selling their book. I get that writing a book takes up so much of your time. 

On top of that lots of people don't like Marketing. They view it as a necessary evil. Just sending an email to your list and a few Social Media posts isn't gonna give you the book sales that you want. 

You need a well thought out Marketing plan. People need to warm up to the idea that you have written a book. It's about taking people on a journey. 

Show everyone behind the scenes, your writing process and why you have written the book. All of this takes time. 

Something that a lot of authors overlook is you need to showcase yourself not just the book. It's so important to do this and take people on a journey. 

On top of that you need to be doing Public Relations. This gets you seen on bigger platforms and widens the net. Being interviewed on a podcast about the topic of your book is amazing for authors. 

You need to prepare a pitch and a Press Release to introduce yourself and your book. This needs to be done in a way that really grabs people's attention. People in the media are getting emails all day long. Doing your homework is so important when it comes to this. 

The beauty of a well thought out Marketing plan and strategic PR means that you don't have to keep saying "buy my book" all the time. Your PR does all the heavy lifting for you showcasing who you are and what the book is about. 

It's about creating a buzz way before the launch. You want people talking about it and excited to get their hands on a copy and this takes time. 

I have been involved with two book launches that the books became No 1 bestsellers on Amazon at the time of launching. That involved a lot of hard work but it's so much FUN to do when you feel organized.
